Can't build bed?

Well, the title says it all.
All I'm trying to do for now is build me a sprough bed, but I can't do it for the life of me.
I know I need fir bough and I already have plenty of them, but now what?
The Furniture tab wont even show under the Build tab.

I believe you are thinking of the legacy spruce bough bed, which has been removed from the game.

The bed now available in game comes under the furniture heading which means you would need a house in order to build it.

You can puts containers inside your leanto.

DisKagel isn't saying the leanto has been removed from the game, but the spruce bough bed and he is correct, it has been removed from the game.

General point is you don't need a bed to protect your stuff. When you build a lean-to, it gets flagged as owned by that character and anyone trying to loot will need theft. I'm not 100% sure when it gets flagged, at build or when putting something in, or what, but you don't have to explicitly claim it if it's your only lean-to.
