[Newbie Questions] About "thingys" quality

Postby hery76 » Thu Jun 30, 2016 2:54 pm

Hey guys, i've been trying to interiorize all this quality system with caps and stuff but it's being hard :P

some quick questions:

Let's say i need 100Q branch's:

-> can i found this on the wilderness capped by survival or other ability?
-> if i plant a 100Q tree, the branch's have this Q aswell?

Water quality related:

-> Is water quality randomly higher or lower on the wilderness? Is it capped but any ability when i go pick it with a waterflask p.e.?
-> when prospecting(?) to build a Well, his the water capped by any stat?

In general, what is the best way to get highQ branch's? planting highQ tree's? And to get highQ water? randomly inspect rivers (any stat involved?)?

Thanks guys o/

Survival hard caps all things collected in the wilderness which already has a set q in all areas. That means that if your survival is 20 and you find a 50q water source, the water you get will only be 20q. Any water source, including wells, has a set q, but you would not be able to access it until your survival exceeds or is equal to the water quality. So by increasing your survival, you will be able to get a higher q water source IF it was already higher than your survival. There are many areas in the wilderness in which the quality is higher than 10 (trees are always 10q though), so you will have to find a good area for clay/dirt/water. Also, planting a 100q tree would create 100q sticks(I'm not sure if stunting effects sticks). To answer that last part, the best way I have found to get high q branches is to split a block of wood with an already high q axe to make better branches, and you repeat the process for a while. It might be difficult to get good quality rock (let alone metal) at the beginning of the game until you start smelting meta FYI, but it also is probably to difficult to produce a decent q tree too. If you have any questions, please ask.

EDIT: yeap i found it on wiki, i need to search for highQ water sources however just to know, if i want to collect it i need higher survival than Qwater right?

yes, if the water q is higher that your survival you must increase it to collect the full quality of the water

I doubt the people with access to the highest will report it, but expect it to be 70s+ to 90s, maybe even over 100s, though I doubt if it has all aspects at such high levels.

You'll only find water of maximum quality idential to your survival (since you hardcap it), so should you find water (or soil, clay, ...) of same quality as your current survival: remember the place and return after raising your survival further.
