Performance is worse than ever...

So I decided to come and play again (I played the old h&h/world 5-7), and my god it's bad. Especially strange since salem worked pretty good in the old days and IIRC you are using same engine for those two. Strangest thing is that the music is the thing that's lagging hardest.
I know my PC is potato (Intel E6700, 4GB RAM, GeForce405), but ya know neither salem nor haven has been flashiest game ever.
Maybe it's my choice of client (I grabbed amber). Sorry I can't just check them all because my internet is very limited. (I live in Poorlandia and I'm yet to pick a cable connection)
Any protips? I will appreciate all help.

Oh I didn't notice that, I don't have the file now. Although I did notice romovs does have a post in the Amber client thread indicating he mergerd loftar's opimizations with his client but I am not sure.

I'll see about directing loftar to this thread and maybe he can clarify why it's not downloadable now or if there any further changes to come.

Thtat optimization thread you linked was like very very old, and all changes from it has been merger long time ago to pretty much all active custom clients.

About all you can do is look into upgrading from you 400$ Baked potato up to a possibly less baked 800-900$ potato.
