A place to live: what's needed?

Postby Vengyr » Tue Jul 05, 2016 6:51 pm

Greetings, I'd like to ask what is considered a good location for a new player. I've played a lot of Legacy, and that included "advanced" hermiting where you try to "powerplay" while playing alone or in a very small group (basically as 2). So I have some idea how the game works. However, things have been changed a bit. So, a few questions appeared.

What resources/nodes are important? Back in Legacy Haven a good place for me was the place with Q 40 clay/water, which was usually unclaimed and at the same time handy for starting out, clay helping with an initial quality of stuff and brickmaking, and water simply making life/lowQ pies better. Having a swamp/mountain nearby was another important thing to consider. The place that had all of those and was relatively secluded was considered good by me.

So the question is, what's important here? It seems that quality nodes are much more common here, and having my survival skill rising, I am looking forward to find the nodes of the similar standarts I've said. I have a swamp nearby, but no mountains in 30 mins of travelling. Are they still important? Anything else to consider? I know the safety basics, so asking just about the quality of location.

And also, how much space do you need for a 1-2 players?

I am noob player and my grouping of 3 men has access to Q50 soil/water/clay, so I think this standard you set is able for getting easy.

Mountain is holding many of good local resource. Other player maybe has these with fortification as this point though.

It is sounding to me like you know what you are doing.

Village claim is trivial for upkeep, so you can take as much space as you need I think. Only consideration to make is how quickly you can get this cloth for claim extending with banner.
