Taming Questions

Postby riker88 » Wed Jul 06, 2016 6:17 am

I have Horses (Mare & Stallion)
I have Cows (Cow & Bull)
I have Sheep (Ram & Ewe)

I'm now working on Pigs..

Tamed 5 of them, got 4 Hogs, and then finally 1 Sow.

I'm guessing the Sow is the female but the RingofBrodgar.com says its one of the growth stages of the hog, so I just wanted to confirm.

It hasn't gotten pregnant yet, only had it about 12 hours though..

Thanks in advance.

Nope, it is the female pig, not an extra growth stage. Most things on RoB are out-of-date and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Nah, most things are. It's the small details that may not be. The above information, if from RoB, wasn't even correct for legacy.

@OP: yeah, sow is a female. (Fun fact: female bears are also called sows.)

Also, it may take a few days for it to get preggers, it may be just a few minutes. It really is widely variable.

...because merging threads is too mainstream.

Also, a metric ton of things on wiki is unreliable or doesn't exist at all. Mother of Pearl? Nope, never heard of it.

Also, it takes up to 24 hours for a newly matured animal to get "sexually active". After that point it's never more than an hour for it to get pregnant each time after birth, if being placed with a male.

If the threads were related in any way OTHER than the title, I would have. If you have moderation concerns, please PM a moderator or use the report function. Thank you.
