PvE Combat Stat Averages?

Postby Pragma » Fri Jul 08, 2016 2:28 pm

I'd like to know more or less what stats I should be shooting for before fighting each creature.

How much Agi and STR should I be shooting for when hunting a fox for example, with UC? How much with MC? Or Agi/Per for MM?

What about bats? Badgers? Boars? That's my question more or less, what is a safe stat range to fight each creature.

well, str/agi 17/12 and 2UA is NOT enough to kill a fox. Just tried. Didn't work. Didn't get any nasty wounds either though. Only SHP lost.
Edit: Neither is it good enough to fight ants. Either that, or I really suck.

10-15 UA should better help you fight those nasty ants!

STR Only effects the damage you do with unarmed attacks, and you do not need that much to hunt in UA combat in my experience. However, you do need a lot of agility.
Agility decreases the time between your attacks, the more agility the faster you hit, and it also increases the time for whatever it is you're fighting to do its attacks.
I would rate agility to be the most needed stat for hunting.

UA increases the value of your UA defensive moves, some will take your UA value and multiply it by 0.8, and that will be the amount of damage your defensive move will absorb. The earlier defensive moves will have the block value of your UA, i.e no multiplier.

I highly recommend Sevenless' guide, they've helped an awful lot of beginners to get into this game.

If you have any more questions, either of yous, feel free to PM me or post 'em here. If you're a hermit but need some combat practise you could perhaps make a post in the Sevilla trade forum and ask if someone would meet you there for a spar, or alternately, if you prefer, PM me and I'll spar you for some practise.

I believe it affects damage of melee attacks as well, but wih all that triquality mess on weapons I may be wrong.

It does, yes. Melee weapon damage is Base * sqrt(sqrt(Strength*Substance)/10) according to wikipedia.

With adequate knowledge of the game's features you can kill pretty much any animal with q1 bow and few MM.

Actually, Sevenless is what sparked the idea, how he says that 30 UA and 20 Agi is enough for bats, but never quite lists a decent stat number for hunting say... boars or bears.

with 50 UA, 40 Agility , and leather armor. I was able to defeat all wild animals accept bears with little problems. I have never fought a bear so I don't know what it takes to bring them down..

I did have to replace pieces of leather armor as they got worn down. Opening up with an Arrow helps out ALOT, and often times will send them running on the first hit.
