Butchering/Skining

Postby riker88 » Sun Jul 10, 2016 8:22 pm

I thought survival was the cap for butchering & skinning?

I have a character with 48 survival, and a Q102/100/88 metal axe

I have another character with 20 survival, and a Q58/52/51 stone axe

The 20 survival character pulls better skins and cuts of meat off the carcass, what gives?

You might have had different animals that you butchered on each time.

no I tested this twice first on a horse, then on a pig.

took a horse (2 skins), cut first skin off it with my higher leveled character, then logged into lower level character and cut the second skin off it and it was MUCH higher quality. I did the same thing with the butchering, the lower level character obtained higher quality every time.

Perhaps Survival & axe quality are not what's needed here anymore, maybe its some other trait.

It's farming for tamed animals.

does axe quality and farming skill (for domesticated animals) replace the axe quality and survival skill for wild animals?

yeah, farming for domesticated, survival for wild. and it's any 'sharp tool'. it doesn't have to be an axe
