Trading, towns etc

Postby Shyruban » Thu Jul 14, 2016 8:00 pm

Hi
I started playing less than a week ago but I've played Salem which obviously this game is based on...
What I'd like to know is : Since there don't seem to be a central town, like Boston in Salem game, how do people trade?
I mean I met 1 player during the whole week and I explore a whole lot and that player ran away as soon as she noticed me hehe.
If there are major trading places, how does one find\know their locations? Is there ways to fast travel to them?
So far I find most of the answers I need through both wikis and this forum, but not about this.
I found the world map on a site and I found where I am on it and also how far I have been from my hearth, also can tell that if a big town\market exist at opposite of map, it would take me forever to get there :).
Thanx in advance for any clarification.
Btw my in game name is Hugh Janus :P

Other ways around.

You go to prearranged location in this world.

Wise choosing, player can kill you. I will not trust this dangerous stranger.

Subforum for trades. Thread of main trade hub. Fast travel needs charter stone but this is expensive for building and you must visit other location first before teleportation travels.

Yes, maybe this will taking time.

They're both commentary on the futility of man, I don't think making a distinction between what came first is important as long as it's acknowledged that Jorb wants to see people suffer psychologically.

Maybe it is not important, but I think to perpetuate incorrect informings is not good deed.

Ok so I guess I must forget about trading for now :)
Ah ok, I assumed HH was younger than Salem as graphics looks somewhat fresher :).
I got very lucky, I found a nice spot in game where there's a large abandoned base, no longer has a claim but had a lot of stuff there still, the kind of stuff a noob really needs but that raiders would leave behind :).
Not sure if this game is for me then, in Salem at least you could meet new people in town, I had a few friends, here, well it seems very lonely, to the point of finding it ridiculous to call it a multiplayer game hehe.

You can maybe check to see if some more local player will trade to you. Also some player will travel to you to make trades.

Haven has some old 2d version of game (now referred this one as ''Legacy''). Then developer of Haven (jorb and loftar) go to work on Salem. At some point they stop and come back to rebuild Haven as 3d game you play now. Salem project has/had more resource behind it, I think. I am not entirely clear of history but this is gist.

Is nice for startings. Good luck.

If you have the desire for more player interactions you can simply post your coordinates here and/or boat in different routes leaving friendly runestones with your ingame hearth secret everywhere. Believe me, loneliness and boredom is practically an innate trait of H&H players this late into the World.

Then again, as Ysh mentioned, some of those interactions may not be all fun and flowers, and end rather abruptly. Act on your own risk.

Well no wouldn't do that, was just mentioning that I miss having a central town to go to and trade\by stuff, meet people in a safe place and so on.
would not post my coords hehe, actually since i have a bit of experience from playing Salem, my small place is done so it's very hard to see on map, no paving to see, no large plowed land,
I only plow a bunch of random 1 square spots which only appear as very tiny dots on map, also went and settled 2 maps from the river, so that wanderers in a rowboat can't spot me.
Someone will find me one day I'm sure.

That's not so hard to see as you think, and that can bear undesirable consequences for farming. But, yeah, looks like you know what you're doing.
