First of all, I learned to my chagrin that you must put the image sketch in before building all the other required parts. It's kind of a duh to me now, but I was a bit annoyed that I collected all the pigments and we spent days on a design only to complete the boat without putting it in.

I think it took 100 liters of tar to make all the tar sticks. Someone else did it but we had an empty bucket of tar at the end so that was my assumption.
The primary wood affects the outside boards, the second wood determines the bench color. The sails will take on the texture of the majority cloth. I used all linen and larch on mine, and it looks like this.

Also to TRY and keep it safe, what we did was extend a claim to a small inlet just large enough to park the knarr in, and then seal it off from the ocean with another knarr construction site. The idea was to get out, you'd need to commit vandalism to destroy the construction site, and then theft to leave with the knarr. Hoping this is secure, but we keep a good eye on it too. Anyone else want to share their Knarr experiences or recommendations on keeping one safe?
