'Patch of Badger Hide'

I've found one on abandoned place. What it is used for? How to get it?

It can be used as regular animal hide. 2 whole badger hides can be used to make a badger vest (armour).

First you would have to discover dried badger hide by taking it off a drying rack. Note that badger hide takes up 2 diagonal inventory spaces. But since you only have a scrap of badger hide it can only be used as regular dried animal hide, like I said before. You get a scrap of badger hide by tearing apart a badger hide.

sorry, bad habit of mine. you get a scrap of badger hide by right clicking a badger hide and tearing it apart.

You can also get a "scrap of hide" by making any recipe that calls for a piece of hide and having a hide in your inventory that is bigger than what the recipe calls for. Example is making a water skin with a bear hide in your inventory. The water skin needs two hides, but the bear hide provides 4. You end up with 2 patch of bear hide that you can only use as a piece of hide or to tear up further into hide straps.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
