Joining up with friends/family

Postby WilliamPD » Sat Jul 23, 2016 5:05 pm

Hey all

I'm trying the game again for the first time in many years. My wife, son and I would like to play together but how can we guarantee that we'll start close to each other or be able to join up with each other later?

Thanks Hasta, I imagine it will take me a little time to be able to craft that. If we create new players at the same time is the spawn point random?

Yes, it is.

Creating a Wilderness Beacon will require you to learn Carpentry and make a Bone saw in order to acquire Boards; everything else is pretty much lying on the ground. Dig some clay from shallow water, destroy some stumps for wood blocks, chip some stone from boulders, et voila.

There's another way of spawning in a pre-chosen location: a charterstone. If you know someone who's very developed and have one, you can ask for them to let your characters spawn at it. It will require a good amount of trust and many possible complications, so I'd go with beacon.

Boards are produced, not gathered, and require a special skill to do so.
