Cave troll killed our miner and the body vanished

I'm not sure what happoned his body was there when he died but it took me a few hours and an alt death to get the troll away from the body. Once I was able to get to it the body safly it was gone no skeleton just his gear and loot was skattered everywhere I actually had to mine it out of tiles. I was down there working on retrieving him all afternoon so I know that there was no foul play involved I'm just very confused and we are now without a skeleton for a proper berial. Anyone know of this ever happening before or was it some glitch any input appreciated.

Is it possible for the body to have decayed and the troll to have bashed the skeleton while you were baiting it away? Or for someone else to have taken the skeleton and port?

Can confirm I've had a similar experience. When I spawned a troll for the first time I killed it using alts. After a large number of bodies built up I started using the bodies to block the troll's path. I noticed that occasionally a body would disappear as if it had somehow destroyed them because it kept getting in to areas it wasn't supposed to be in and there's no way any of the bodies could have decayed that quickly.

Yes, this troll is power creature. It will break the body and it will break the spirit of men.

Must be nice to first get your miner killed by troll and then troll bashing the body so inheriting it is useless.

Thanks for the input yea it does suck do you guys know if it will despawn of if I have to kill it? Suggestions on how to kill it's safely mind you there is not any water close

It won't despawn, you'll have to kill it or get someone else to kill it or at least use an alt (or several alts more likely) to lure it off somewhere that it won't bother you.

Otherwise your only safe option of killing it is to spawn alts and get enough LP on them to learn archery, make some bows and arrows and shoot it. Expect to repeat that scenario a large number of times before it dies.

Water won't help you because if the troll can't get to you but still is aggroed at you he will start throwing cave-ins at you.

Probably your best option is to hire a trollhunter... or, rather, troll eradicator service.

The troll skull is very value item. I assume you can ''hire'' someone to kill this troll for free since they are getting skull. But it might be worth to try and kill yourself. It is not very hard and skull is good reward.

5th lv trolls can't be soloed can they? Also does anyone know if they heal over time
