What do you think is the best way to keep items safe.

Take item in inventory of an alt. Then log out. No one can ever steal them from that alt's inventory.
devs pls fix

Had an idea for a bit now that is more related to changing how scents work entirely but if all players persisted in the world unless they logged out using a bed/leanto this could change things significantly. That bed/leanto can then be looted to take items from the inventories of any players who logged off by sleeping in the bed but cannot be used to kill the player unless they have summonable scents out. If you don't log out using this method well, you can be looted because you're in the game and also you'd likely die.

Rough idea and not the whole thing either because obviously having players persist in the world after logout reduces the negative impact of leaving scents somewhat but I thought it might be something interesting to try.

That's a pretty awful idea. Think of the nabs.
“We still, alas, cannot forestall it-
This dreadful ailment's heavy toll;
The spleen is what the English call it,
We call it simply, Russian soul.”

An idea to consider: Tedium, a Feature.

usually all of the suggestions made have new players in mind and most of my own are no exception to this but idk it would be cool to see something that shakes things up a bit

I kind of like the idea of "fixing" alt-vaulting. In Salem, the equivalent of Hearthfire is lootable but in Haven, with current mechanics, it would open up an exploit.

-Create two alts (I'll refer to them as A and B)
-Grind Theft or whatever allows you to steal from Hearthfires to both characters
-Place alt A's Hearthfire at location 1.
-Place alt B's at location 2.
-Move alt A to location 2.
-Move alt B to location 1.
-To move stuff from location 1 to 2, give items to alt B and steal them from it's Hearthfire with alt A
-To move stuff from location 2 to 1, give items to alt A and steal them from it's Hearthfire with alt B

Reason why this isn't a problem in Salem is the fact that you can just have the alts A and B travel into safe-zone NPC town and exchange items there. OF course there is slight risk of somebody stealing the stuff as you transfer it through container but it never happened to me during the many transfers that I did.
