How Do You See Objects Behind Trees/Buildings?

I remember items used to have a yellow outline while behind others, but they don't seem to anymore.

How do you access stuff behind other stuff now?

By the way, I found a house with some ruins, but it's facing backwards, so I can't open the door either. :-(

Press the middle mouse button and move the mouse a bit to the left or right. The camera will readjust in steps of 90°.
