Tea Bushes

Postby InvaderDoom » Thu Aug 11, 2016 4:30 am

Ok, so I apologize for this, but the search "TeaBush" on the forums reveal so many options that it's almost impossible to find the answer you're looking for.

What I'm wondering is, are TeaBushes like a one-time farm only? Like the bushes do not respawn any tea-leaves or seed pods? I've had this TeaBush for quite some time now-around a week-and it hasn't respawned anything. Would I have to find someone with Seed Pods? Or will it eventually grow back leaves and pods?

Thanks in advance, and sorry again if this has already been asked.
I just love to stalk the Jorbtar

Not a problem. Yeah, from my own experements- its a one time harvest. You have to replant them- or else your not getting more tea.

They do regrow
But it's a bit of magic there - form 5-6 tea bushes 1-2 was regrown every week smth like that.

In my experience they regrow just as random as trees. But it's existant.

They definitely regrow, some say faster than trees.

I have a single teabush that has supplied me plenty of tea. Yes, they definitely regrow, although kinda slow.
Total misplay.

Bushes regrow when decay hits the tile they are on.

So, given that bigger objects accumulate decay faster than smaller ones (which would lead to the conclusion that the decay mechanic checks object hitboxes and not object coordinates)... one possible solution to maximise the chance for a bush to gain that hit would be to plant it on the corner of a tile so the hitbox is spread over 4 tiles (instead of the middle of one so the hitbox completely inside that one tile) to up the chance of a decay hit by 300%.

Just an untested thought, since with tea I simply replant them because it is faster than the current broken mechanic.

I think if it checks object hitbox, relative position to tile is not matters.

Decay hits a server coordinate, not the whole tile, which is why bushes and small trees (e.g. mulberry) are slow to regrow. Under the old system, a tile was 11x11 pixels. I'm not sure of the size under the floating point coordinates (may be same size, just tracked with floats instead of ints).

Right, assuming you are correct then:

Is not a valid solution I think. Since item hitbox is taking up same number of pixels even on corner of tile. Decay operator is not based on tile at all, relative position in tile is not matters.
