Village Claims. How do they work?

Postby Parkace » Tue Aug 16, 2016 5:03 am

Howdy!

I have a base (somewhere) on the map, and is interested in building/activating a Village Claim.

The claim can be activated, but requires, as on the the wiki, 60,000 LP.

However, in game, it says for each Founding Father (each person interacting with it at that time) requires 30,000 for it to work.

My questions are as follows:

-Which one is correct? The 30,000 per father or the Wiki's 60,000?

-What are the benefits for being a Founding Father?

-Will a village claim act similar to a personal claim? (As in, things don't decay in the claim, people cannot enter the claim.)

This is my first forum post for Haven, so I hope this looks organized enough for people to read. Sorry if it isn't.

To my recollection, it's 30,000 split between up to 5 people.

Nothing. You're just automatically inducted as a member of the village if you're a founder.

It's similar, but different. Anyone can walk on a village claim, but everything else requires permissions. I don't think a vclaim protects from decay the same way a pclaim does, but I'm not confident enough to say that definitively. Someone else will need to confirm that.

Thanks for answering my questions. Glad to know that there are helpful people on the forums.

I've got a personal claim that protects my buildings, but its just my palisades that are not. It gets kinda annoying to go around repairing them after a while.

If a moderator could lock/remove this forum, because my questions are answered, that would be swell. (Or can I do that on my own? Still don't know how forum making works.)

It is just 30k, and is split evenly between up to 5 players. The person activating the idol becomes lawspeaker.

We don't lock or remove threads as somene else is going to have the same question and, ideally, if they do a search first, they'll get the answer.

I'd suggest doing something fast to protect the palisade as anyone can come up with a catapult or ram and quickly break through since they aren't covered by a claim. The time from building to firing is pretty short as they'd normally have a claim shield to get through first.

Alright. I guess don't lock this forum then.

Well, this is the farthest I've ever gotten in haven, my other attempt in world seven got only to birch bark baskets.

The funny thing is, I went around for about two hours trying to find clay to spawn my friend in (I was right new to some water to get clay.)

And I end up next to a neighbor, asking them, "How do I get clay?" Realizing that the dig button was in Adventure, I felt like a complete idiot, and I've spent.... Two hours looking for a Mud Flat (Which I was right next to as well.)

Right now security is a lower priority at my village since I haven't really met anyone dangerous in game yet. I mean, I almost die by BLOODY ANTS and I haven't met one person who wanted to harm me or rob me. The most threatening thing I find out there are badgers more than humans, since badgers are the spawn of the underworld for beginners.

Good luck to you. When in doubt, definitely ask. All the vets were complete idiots in this game at their start. Only games that have higher learning curves are pen and paper RPGs. I think EVE is easier than this. (Then again, I grew up playing Battletech and Car Wars, so EVE was almost second hand.)
