Domestic animal despawn

Postby spospospo » Mon Aug 29, 2016 10:23 pm

Hey everyone, quick question:

Do I have to tether domestic animals to hitching posts to keep them from despawning or is a simple fence enough? Do they ever despawn other than dying?

Thanks.

A fence so they don't wander out of the range of the fodder trough is enough.

Oh, and a palisade so no dickheads come by and steal them.

Palisade is already built. And I have been tethering all of them to posts one by one like a retard until now.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Don't feel bad. There's nothing saying you don't, and it's a logical move.

It's not a half bad idea for your milk cows and such to keep them organized, but I'm not sure they'll breed if hitched. (Haven't messed with domestic animals since the start of w8. Too much work to lose if you don't log in for a few days.) For organization, a lot of us would get them "stuck" in roundpole gates so they wouldn't mill around, so the hitching post is a far superior tool.

Well, I don't know about superior, let alone far superior, but at least it's another option than trying to mess with all those fences.

Just so that you know, yes, they do breed when hitched. :)
