Dig Deeper

Is the new hearth magic "dig deeper" worth the 20k exp.? How much does it increase the well from a 10 10 10? Anyone test this yet?

Find a better well before wasting 20k on expanding a well. The cost doubles everytime you dig deeper.

Find the highest Q well you can, make sure you won't be moving for a good long while, and then dig.

I've not seen anyone post about it anywhere else. I'd take a stab that a moderate quality well is worth it more than an already high quality well due to margins. Then again, in the strive to spiral steel quality higher and higher, no expense is too much.

20k is a pretty big sink in the name of science, will wait i suppose for some brave soul with more expendable Exp. than me to give us some numbers. Thanks everyone so far for the input.

I'm sitting on about 15k XP right now that I'm not doing a lot with. I'm not playing a lot, but if nobody gets around to it and I hit that 20k mark, I'll just bite the bullet and do it, even if it's only a q10 well I find.

I still haven't managed to find a good well, I do some good prospecting, then it says "the water table does not get higher" and I go to build a well in that spot and it takes like 47 rope to build a well. What gives?

Prior to an update several months ago, you couldn't build a well in these spots. It was leaving people frustrated and confused on how the dowsing system worked. As a boon (maybe a taunt?), jorb and loftar now allow us to build a well anywhere. The downside is that if the water table is deep, then the costs can be very high. Upside is you will always have water access in your base (even if only q10).
