Recycling strawhat

Anyone found impossible to recycle strawhats? i have one with one feather trinket, the other with trinket and an empty slot, they don't recycle. Maybe it's for the empty slot?

I think there must be no slot on both item to recycle.

It gives chance to open slot on item that does already has no slots. Or chance at refund for gilding inside.

i know that, but in fact, i just recycle old items that actually have worse gilding on them, this leads to have "maybe" another slot, but with less good gildings than i can make, or a gilding and clothing that i do not use anymore...i suspect this is more good on higher levels, maybe?

It is for making it easy to produce new item. Say you want to be crafting some 3 gild item. Now when you fail for open 3rd slot after 2nd gild, you can recycle and need to use less total item to produce.

When you have 2-5% chance to get another slot you make 50 gilding items and 50 shirts for example. With recycling you have a lot more chances than 50 tries to try making (for example) 2 sloted shirt. If you try bulk gilding your understanding and using recycling is going to arrive on its own.
