When I did enter a kingdom with +42 Survival, I did only reach 10 survival (5+5), so I did think it could be capped by the double of my actual ammount.
Then I did reach 7, thanks to new equipment, and went on a kingdom with +82 survival, but yet, Survival was at 10, what is capping it?

You can only ever get double of your original value.

Correct, you can only ever receive DOUBLE THE BASE VALUE of any skill/attribute. So if you have 10 survival, you can only get +10 bonus to a total of 20 survival.
