Well depth and water quality

Postby Shyruban » Wed Sep 28, 2016 3:22 am

I noiticed that, the deeper the water table, the more rope the well uses, which makes sense.
But is water quality in relation with depth?, Will deeper well produce better water?
The hearth magic that lets you deepens the well serves to raise the quality of the water... Does it work the same when building the well itself?
My friend found a spot that requires 250 ropes to build well hehe.

No.

So there is basically no way of finding good water for a well, all it is is a slot machine type thing, you get what you get?

Well, the water quality field is continuously varying, so it's not completely random, if that's what you mean by "slot machine".

By stot machine i mean that no matter what you do, you never know what you'll get once you build a well.
No way of finding decent water.

At least that is not an entirely correct characterization of how it works.

Ok just forget the slot machine thing, is there or not a way other than pure luck to find decent quality water ? Not talking about the water table height since it does not correlate to quality.
If there is one, please explain.
If there isn't, then it is as I said :).

You can triangulate the centre of quality nodes from sampling water sources around. While this is easier to do with open water around it also works with Wells.

yes i had figured that one, like when a good water node rises in quality till you hit land, but once on land, you have no clue, you have to build wells here and there :)
ok thanx
