I was just hoping to shadow someone and get a little more insight on the game. At the moment I'm just wandering around not doing much.

Sevenless' beginner guide to Haven and Hearth should help you get started. For any other simple or beginner question, you can ask here and someone should be able to answer your question. Welcome and have a good time :) !
The vast majority of communication with others are not just words; it is also diction, body motion, and many other factors. Even doing nothing is communication in itself. The moment your eyes meet someone, you have initiated contact. In essential, it is a constant non-stop flow between two or more entities.

Note that the combat section is out of date. It needs a re-write because of an update a couple of weeks ago.

Ants don't do a lot of long term damage, but you will need to heal some of it or wait for it to heal on its own. They're pretty good practice once you hit 10 UA. (Can probably take them on at 5, but if you're unfamiliar with combat in Haven, better to be a bit safer.)
