A short and (somewhat) comprehensive guide on spiraling.

Spiraling is a general name for raising the quality of your crafting output by increasing the quality of your means of production step by step.

Spiraling qualities was a huge mechanic back in the Legacy, and spiraling metal was the only way to get 200+ q metal in Hafen. Now, with the addition of bone clay and compost bins, I’ve decided to do a write up on how you can get your metal, trees and other industries to 200 q in a few simple steps! (disclaimer: they are not so simple. This guide assumes you have 245q+ bonesaw, 200+q bones and an unlimited amount of pit or green clay. A lot of quality number are very much approximated).

Things to cover:

1. General idea
2. Spiraling clay
3. Spiraling trees
4. Spiraling metals
5. The conclusion.

1. General idea.

The addition of water increasing mechanic, and bone clay and compost bins recently, all of your industries now can be neatly tied into a single, ever-growing in qualities, organism.
Previously, you were stuck with 60q clay, 60q soil and 60q water (there also was 95q spring water some Koreans had, but let’s forget about that). Smelters and finery forges significantly soft-capped your metals, 90q trees were a real limit for most of the population and each of the known high-quality coal nodes eventually ran out.
Now, you can easily cook some 120q clay, negating the soft-cap on metals, allowing you to craft 150+q herbalist pots, grow 150q+ trees with little hassle and much more.

Let’s go into some details on every aspect.

2. Spiraling clay.
Spiraling clay is easy. Grab some feldspar from lvl5, a sizable amount of pit or cave clay and high-quality bones from mammoths/trolls/moosen from the woodsen.
Craft the boneclay, and immediately build a 100+ kiln from them. Congratulations, you’ve already reduced the softcap significantly.

Now, repeat the procedure, this time crafting treeplanter pots and bricks. Load the kiln with high-Q sticks or coal, and enjoy your brand new pottery. 80q pot was considered of very good quality before, now, given 100q boneclay and 150q fuel, you will get ~125q pots and bricks.
From this point, we go further.

3. Spiraling trees.
First step: compost.
Grab the highest quality saw you can get and make 24 planks. Cook 8 bone glue from the highest Q bones you have left. And grab some high-q wood blocks too.
Build 4 compost boxes using those mats, and fill them with the famous 288q carrots.
Given time, they will produce your first batch of ~200q soil. Huge jump from the 60-80q soil we had before, right?

Now you get your shiny and white pots and fill them with it. Travel to Sevilla and purchase a barrel of 70+q water from the market (grab an herbalist table too if you don’t have one, and 160+ high-q flax seeds).
With 200q soil, 73q water, 125q herbalist table, 80q seeds and 125q pot, the first trees to come out will be of ~100q. Replant that, and you’ll have 110q trees.

Now, you make better planks out of the new trees, and you make even better herbalist tables and compost piles out of them.
You also make better Q sticks to fuel you boneclay kiln, producing ever so higher Q herbalist pots. At this point, your home-grown sticks will surpass 90% of the coal found in the mines, given a decent Q axe.
You can now also build some sick tanning tubs, cheese curders and wine presses.

4. Spiraling metals.
With metals, your first step would be to produce even more high-Q boneclay.
Build a decent Q tar kiln. You can now produce constantly produce 140+ coal just from planks you craft.
Cook even more boneclay using it, this time building a smeltery and a finery forge, and smelt tons of cast
iron bars using the high-Q coal you now have.

Next, you need an str/smithing alt with ONLY the Metal Working skill picked up. Bloom up some cast iron bars, and reforge them. A small amount of them will turn into wroughts, around 90% of the leftovers will either lose quality, or remain the same (affected by your hammer and anvil). The last few bars will get a nice ~25% bonus to their quality. Stick the bars back into the finery forge, and repeat the process until you get enough high-Q bars to remake your smithy set and the finery forge into a better versions. Repeat until you ran out of metal.

You can also use some of that metal to make even better axes, to produce even higher sticks for fuel, and you high-Q slags you get from forging metal as stones for your next version of the tar kiln.

5. Conclusion
We’re now at the beginning of an insane quality race. A dedicated enough man will soon have 200q trees, 400q anvil sets and 300+q gear.
Don’t miss out, join the race now! Or don’t, and just buy some of the final product later (:

Feels a bit weird that natural resources quality can be made relatively irrelevant through farming...

Getting higher metal skills reduces the chance of getting cast iron.

too spiral you want the bloom to become cast iron not wrought and the other skills raise the chance of bloom becoming wrought iron.
see homo sexuality trending,. do not do that.
