is there a better strategy for finding silver and gold veins?
its best to clean the whole area or mine in lines?

mine in a large grid pattern, prospect to see what's below you. Searching two levels at a time sounds good to me.
Can't say how big that grid should be. Nodes vary in size. I wouldn't do much bigger than one lane per minimap, and probably not more than two lanes per minimap. Others might have better suggestions than what I have on searching.

1. Get you str to 200+ and 100+ pickaxe. Make an iron pants because troll pinus too stronk
2. Get on level 3,4 or 5, the more is bigger chance.
3. Go dig all walls you see in caves.
Silver is about 1/10 of all spots you find in deep levels (except coal ofc)
Gold is about 1/20-30 of all sports you find in deep levels (except coal ofc)
