Bond of blood

A bond of blood and soil washed up on shore. Does it actually have a claim attached or is it just junk?

It should have a claim attached to it, problem is that you don't know which...

A claim has exactly one bond of blood, so yes, it does. The bond cannot exist without the claim, and the claim owner can destroy an existing bond to get a new one, but until he/she does that, the existing one is tied to that claim. Good chance someone drowned or was killed or dumped on the water. The bond got dumped in the water when the corpse decayed. Someone could be trolling the owner a bit, stole it from a chest, and threw it out.

If you keep it in your study table for 96 hours (or was it 72?) then you will take over the claim and they wont be able to do anything. If you can ever figure out where it is then you will own that claim and all it holds. So GL with that. BTW if it is walled you wont have any keys to get into it but you will be able to bash the walls without recourse.

Do they even decay? I've never tried dropping one.

If they do it takes a long time.
