Yeah, start with ants. get some armor first too if you can

the higher strength the better, 50 is a good starting point. the quality of your tool helps.

yeah, butchering animals factors your tool + survival. if you dont want to bother getting survival for your alt, just have him haul corpses back to your place for your main to butcher

I've been doing pretty well with just unarmed, but futher on you might want to try melee. some attacks dont factor melee to use weapons, such as chop and sting

ususally the order for fighting is ants>bats>foxes>badgers>boars>deers>lynx>moose>Bear>mammoth (lol)> troll (lol

you can go full monk by just rising UA, however mc is much more effective, and rising both is the optimal way

fighting works differently than before, attacks do this debilitating effect called openings that determine how much damage you can actually do (if the enemy have 50% opening, your attack do 50% of the total damage they can do), and in fights you usually start with 0% opening, so at the start of a battle you always do 0 damage. what you want to do is keep attacking until you can do tons of damage to the enemy and knock them out.

Defenses are no more and now you have restoration moves, wich reduces your openings by a certain amount, if you see your openings are geting too big, you should look to use them and reduce the damage taken for a bit

both attacks and defenses are color coded, some have many colors, and attacks of certain colors only work with openngs of certain colors.

The hardness of the wall is random, so you should try to look for walls that you can actually break, although 18 str is a good amount to start mining

raw hide is based off survival and softcapped by the quality of the sharp item you use to butcher it

you do need to raise surv so you dont softcap your kills, but not for actually fighting

that would be the cooldown, once that circle finish circling, you can use your moves, or if you pressed one before, thats when it's activated.

the openings are the 3 colored squared, and how much they are is represented by a little white bar below them

Perception affects ranged as well as ranged combat.

I am still learning a few things, MC and well as UA getting a higher agility is also key, plus if you ever get strong enough to fight a mmoth (so far two people with 800 in str, agi, MC and UA seems to eb able to take it down with one working as a tank, from what I heard).

Close quarters combat is much more versatile than ranged combat at the moment. However, if all you're doing is hunting then I would raise MM.

Quite honestly, you can use a boat to kill almost any animal by hitting and running. Just be sure that you have enough shallow water that you can intercept the animal before they run away
