Are bears able to dismount riders?

...or is this a glitch? I just observed this while hunting. Met a bear, the combat has begun, then somehow my character endend up on his feet, without option to remount the horse, while horse immediately aggroed on bear.

I've killed many bears on horse and that never happened, you sure you didnt dismount by yourself?

Bears can aggro your horse. And once your horse gets into fleeing mode it dismounts you. It happened to me.
Later horse somehow got out of flee mode and started attacking again.

I'm certain that I did not ctrl-click anywhere on screen as I was in very calm mood, and that happened while I was moving. So I can't rule out hypothetical case about some coincidence, but I'm certain that I didn't dismount myself in any known to me way.

Oh, that exlains it. To think about it, it may be that I didn't receive a single punch from that bear before dismounting.

Was I not be able to remount my horse because I was thrown from a horse or because mounting is not allowed in combat?

Too bad there isn't a way to train & breed horses to be fearless.

Horse blinders could be added to reduce chance of horse being scared

Only in combat I think, I encountered a bear in the wild on horseback and didn't mean to get so close but it just cruised right on by.
