How do YOU select your crops/eggs/rabbits?

I am trying to get around quality grinding on my farm - crops, chickens and rabbits. But with the 3-quality system, I can't decide how to select next generation.

With crops I tried to replant seeds until I got at least +2 in geometric average of qualities, but ended up with 40/40/20 onions which does not seem very good. With rabbits and chickens, qualities jump up and down even more wildly, and choosing which hen to keep is always a problem.

How do you select next generation of farmed products?

Or the ones with higher q in every stat.

Regarding chickens - I found with a single coop for chickens and one to raise chicks it was too slow. I added a second coop for adults, and about to make a third. The more eggs the more chance of raising your q, and the excess eggs are great for cooking.

as far as stragety goes, I think you pick a minimum ql number and remove anything bellow that...

if you have a lot of Coops you can probably play around more...

if you get hands on a high ql food or water, better rebuild the Coop so you don't mix the ql down

then you find a population size that fits your rhythm, in my case 4 female and 1 male is enough to everyday maintenance

the amber client has an option where it averages all three stats and it gives you the average in just one number.

While a lot of us(in the village) don't really talk about the tri quality thing anymore, when we do it's hardly ever good.

the consensus is we are hoping that there is either formulas to do to get each of the three qualities up in it's own reguard(IE one is based on time, other is based on pure farm score and the final be based on npc/char activity in the area) or something along the lines of fertilizer/mulch practices in the up coming updates.
