Tar production efficiency

Postby Damon_Cooper » Tue Nov 15, 2016 12:07 pm

Hi there!
There was some info about different wood blocks provide different amounts of tar. Any info of what types are better for that purpose?

Sounds more like a guess. Maybe some numbers? Was it a conclusion based on some tests? Are they equal? Is fir worse for tar production than spruce or pine?
I was hoping for that kind info so this post can be used for further linkin' - otherwise, I could just ask my question in GLoSQ.

I will do it on some free-time, but if someone already did, I don't want to waste my time. If noone will provide a proper info, I'll share my results here.

Just tested,
2 blocks of Spruce = 0.29L
2 blocks of Fir = 0.09L

Will test more later and post results.

If you know anything about tar making you know that pine is the best wood.
But because im not a professional tar maker I thought it might be pine or spruce.
Turned out its pine.
Its common knowledge to know what tree yields most tar.
