Options to protect quest givers

Postby Saergof » Thu Dec 22, 2016 3:11 am

I want to be sure that several quest trees will not be cut down, but at the same time I do not want to restrict others from communicating with them. What are my options?

A village claim for each quest giver seems a little bit too expensive.

A visitor debuff from the opened palisade around the personal claim should protect the "NPC", but will it allow strangers to communicate with given quest giver, even if that means they'll have to trespass the claim?

In order to "greet"/"report back" character must stand right near the quest giver, in the neigbouring tile, so closed palisade is not an option as it will restrict interactions to emotes like "Go rage at Wrldrjrdrdr".

Simply having PClaims with an open palisade should do. Visitor debuff wont allow to cut the tree, but if you turn criminal acts on you will be able to greet the quest giver/finish your quests.
A village claim is not needed.

Something not requiring criminal acts would be prefered, at least from my side...

A pclaim with a public HS and trespassing permissions for white would work I think

Maybe this is something that needs changing, then. Simply interacting with an object doesn't necessarily leave scents so that they can be done while using a visitor debuff. Only specific actions, such as peeking into a containers or opening closed doors leave scents. This could mean that crafting engines can be used, too, or not.

Performed tests. All works perfectly! Indeed, visitor debuff does not restrict characters to make quest interactions with npcs inside pclaim. All the player has to do is to trespass claim to be able to enter the gate. Yet it is manageable, as I can give trespassing permissions to regular visitors, if they care to contact with the hearth secret published near the palisade.

Pity the pclaim's "white group permission" still not works for strangers.

Fortune favors the bold, Granger.
