I feel ya, but they dont need to refund you anything. The game might be the best thing ever but the way its managed is awful.

lol you're cute
have fun in court

Haven and Hearth is currently in what we consider alpha status. In practice, this means that we have most of the core functionalities in place, those crucial gimmicks and widgets that allow the game to run and people to connect and play. However, much of the higher-level functionality is either missing or only partially implemented. Also, because some functionality is partially implemented, the persistent data in the game can be rather unstable. For example, we might have to remove the maps from time to time when we implement a new map generator.

It is stated somewhere, tbh not sure where, that the game can be reset at any time, be it data corruption, new map, new mechanics that require a wipe or just because the devs feel it is necessary ... you are aware of that, or should be, before you part with any money, therefore they don't owe you a refund, your verified account still stands for the next world and worlds thereafter.

Lol, I take far too long to type ... :(

I doubt it's bait. Plenty of people demanding refunds act like this.

1. There was no guarantee the current state of the world would be kept (and there are even explicit disclaimers to the contrary), so the devs do not owe you anything, much less in a legal manner. I don't think there's sufficient basis for starting a court case, let alone winning it.

2. Court cases can be very expensive, and it gets even worse as H&H's sales probably fall under Swedish law (i.e. there's probably a lot more involved than there would be in suing a company in your own country). It definitely is more expensive than $15 in any scenario.

3. Most companies are pretty willing to give a refund (good reputation and satisfied customers are more important than a single financial contribution from a single user, after all) if you ask nicely. Threatening them with a lawsuit definitely won't help and is more likely to convince them not to give you a refund that they'd normally give even to rude customers. (And knowing the devs, this is a very likely possibility here.)

This is How Do I?, not the Inn. Keep it constructive, please. I'm only leaving this thread here instead of sending it to Hel because the couple appropriate responses might be helpful.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
