Pallisade question

Postby JackMehoff » Wed Jan 11, 2017 11:27 am

Would it be possible to place a cornerpost right next to a corner post? (without making a new original cornerpost)

To my knowledge - only as an end of a circle (i.e. you start from the left corner post go up, around, come from the bottom and finish it with cornerpost which is just next to the first one).
Too old to rock-n-roll, too young to die.

no, you cant. it has to be cornerpost-wall-cornerpost. I tried to make a circle last world but i had to settle for a less circular design than I wanted.

You can and it's fine, but you can't do it as an extension from a cornerpost. You have to either wrap the wall around and finish there, or start another corner.

Do note that you can make a bit of a "loop" with just using blocks. When you first set your palisade, you can break the sections by hand.

And hoping it doesn't collapse too much. :)

This is true. Make sure to repair damaged sections before collapsing another one. Wood blocks are relatively cheap, so nothing saying you can't give a little bit of room to account for this. Besides, the goal is to get two lines of wall like

------X......
......X------

so if you did something like

======X...............
........|......===X....
........|..........|...
........X=======X

It would give you room to build and not collapse much of the wall you want to keep.
(My ASCII art sucks.)

Yes! You can use the new 3-tile wide gates to place two cornerposts next to one another.
Prepare a 3-tile wide gate from the originial cornerpost, then prepare a 2-tile wide gate from this cornerpost back towards the original. You can then bash the temporary cornerpost without causing any dangerous splash damage.
