What are the "ingredients" for a settlement?

I'm trying to come up with a checklist to help me design towns without leaving things out.
So far it's just:
  • Metallurgy area, with Smelters, Anvils, Finery forges, Steel and alloy crucibles
  • Farms
  • Crafting area, Kilns, Ovens, Tarkilns, Cauldrons, Tanning tubs, Drying racks, Herb tables, Looms
  • Storeroom area
  • Player housing
But other than that, I can't really think of what else goes in, without reading every wiki page to remind me of what's actually in the game.
Can any of you look at your towns and add to my list?

Livestock pens. You'll want plenty of space for those or you'll tear your hair out trying to transfer animals between pens.

Area for trees + mulbery trees + silk.

no righteous man raises his hand against the innocent,
a man need only strike another to make him evil."
