Problem with strings (with finding)

Postby Sixurin » Wed Jan 11, 2017 6:41 pm

Hello I/we have a problem with finding strings. We are trying to find strings - by exploring the forest to find the flax or hemp but we can't find it I only found ''Spindly Taproot'' but after 2,5h. Then we try with animals but we need the drying frame (but it needs 2 strings also)

How and where I can find flex or hemp? There is some special grounds/places for them?

Flax/hemp are crops. You find wild winsown weed (this takes moderately high exploration and perception), dry them on a drying rack, hope they turn into flax/hemp, harvest, replant, harvest etc. But that's for later.

For now, what you need to be looking for for string is the spindly taproot, and the stinging nettle. Both are visible at fairly low exploration/perception. I advise you to raise your exploration skill if you're having trouble seeing them.. it shouldn't take all that much.

And look for them in forests, as i don't think they even spawn on grasslands (or very rarely do).

They can also be dried on an herbalist table.

This is preferred, but as nobody has access to one until they get hemp or flax, well... I think everyone can see where I'm going. ;)

Exploration and Survival are definitely two of the best skills to level early on.

Exploration lets you see more things and is incredibly useful for starting out. You get some nice curios from exploration, and blueberries for intelligence to study more.

Survival increases the quality of all the stuff you find from exploration. Very useful.

Perception is a useful stat that greatly compliments exploration too.
I'd suggest using the wiki http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Foraging
it's super helpful for answering simpler questions.
