Gilding At Early Stage

Postby Slippz0r » Fri Jan 13, 2017 2:33 am

Hey Guys/Girls

What glid do you guys use at your first gears ??

Heard or read survival is good to begin with ? If so , should I only use them for the nettle gear , such as shirt and pants ?

What about the clogs , and the sprucecap for ex ? Later on Fur Cloak ...

As many tips as possible would be appreciated (=

What i've been doing is wandering around and gathering nettles and taproots, getting the highest quality I can, and making nettle clothes and attaching taproot lacings hoping for an extra slot, i've then added leather patches to those extra slots to get a +7 surv +3 exp on all my gear so far.

The chances of getting your taproot lacing to gild an extra slot is only 5%, but with recycling it goes a little quicker, its also something that makes the walk between quests much less awful.

Depends on what you want/need. I highly recommend the tap root lacing. It will up your survival to allow you to find better Q taproot and nettle so that you can make better clothes and lacing ,to a degree remember a bonus will only allow you to double your base skill so if you only have 2 survival the best you can do is +2, I would suggest questing for Gilding Leafs. I have gotta a +4 Marksmen, a +5 Str (that's = to a bears tooth right there at lower Q) and a +3 UA. The only other low guilds worth take leather(leather patch for EXP) or wool and fine plant fibers (wool stuffing for Con and MM). Once you have good quantities though they are nice to have.

Another good guilding early is a forager's broach, but that requires hedgehog quills and squirrel tails, hedgehogs might not spawn in your area either.

The forager brooch is better than the leather patch for getting score up. You're talking (X + 1)(Y + 2) vs X (Y + 3).

Just remember that you can only double your base stat, so if you only have 5 survival, loading in 5 taproot lacing aren't going to help. Two will be wasted until you get survival up.

This. Almost everything in the game is figured as a combination of an attribute and skill. Some, like foraging, are simply multiplied together, others are ran through a more complex calculation.
