If so, what biome do you live in!!
So far I only got one hemp and I accidentally gathered it early

It's not biome related. Seeds seem to be regional and you need to move a map over to see something different.

Are we talking mini, local, or region maps? becase It seems to be more than mini and maybe more than local map distances for me.
I think it's made of bubbles and hate.

I'm not sure. I know when I've been out to the longer quest walks, I find something new on the end. Something smaller than the regional maps (5x5 local maps), but bigger than the local maps (5x5 mini-map sections), I think. Needs more information to be sure. I know that no matter which direction I've been going, if it's within a few minutes walk it is always the same 3 seeds. I'm to the point of putting markers on my game map just to track it.

I wonder if its skill based more than regional now?
I have traveled by boat , land bridge, and walking all directions and different times at least an hour in all directions from claim, always the same 3 seeds.
Once I was able to find rustroot, I noticed I started getting hemp also. Not sure what to do with all the carrots, lettuce and grapes. By the way, I have 10 drying racks full every day since the second day of world 10 so its not like I'm not gathering. sure be glad to get barley or wheat....

Explore the map.
Look inside people's walls and fences and check how much flax/hemp they have planted.
Then pick windsown weeds that spawn around them or move on to the next region.
There's no secret to it other than some effort from your part.
