Is glimmermoss fate now?

Is it? My perc*exp is ~2800 and it's been like that for 2 or 3 days already. I've got a huge, HUGE cave nearby that only I can enter. By huge I mean several grids of open space. And I've yet to find my first glimmer. Is it fate-based now?
