Combat question.

Sometimes while fighting bats(mb others too, didn't notice) a green "+1" flies out of the bat. What is this "+1"?
Blue numbers mean IP, red/yellow - SHP and HHP, green - armor. But armor flies out of ME and it's "0" or "1" or "2" etc., without the "+". So what are those green "+1"s out of the bat indicating?
