Stone axe VS Pickaxe!

Does mining with stone axe somehow neglect bonuses from mining skills? It sure feels like it, I've got all mining skills yet my chalcopyrite metal % after >350 smelted ore are: 2% iron, ~3% copper. wtf? Is it cuz I'm using stone axe instead of pickaxe? (since you know, I don't want to softcap my 59q ore with 20q pickaxe when I can softcap it with 39q axe)
Also, at least for me, it was kind of unclear that masonry hardcap is applied before mining tool softcap.

I did not count the output, but it feels that chalcopyrite is giving less than it used to do in W9 (no matter what tool is used). So - not 100% sure, but it might be they just nerfed the ore.

Damn, first they force me to mine it with a damn stone axe and then they give me less bars from it. At least the only batch of cassiterite I did gave me 9 tin bars. I wish it was 2 tin + 1 copper for bronze now lol.

My experience with chalcopyrite is the same, other ores seem to behave normally.

On that part in previous worlds people also would report very small yields from that ore.

One thing that is on my mind, do you have deep artifice? Looks like that without that skill chalcopyrite gives very little metal.
