Help protecting my settlement

Postby pablet » Fri Jan 27, 2017 12:02 am

How do I protect my settlement now? I had a stake claim but it was ignored by some noob atackers and went all in and stoled everything, is palisade 100% necesary now? How can I build a palisade if anyone can come, destroy my stake and simply make the plot theirs building another stake?

It takes 8 hours for your stake to gain power after you build it

Build stake claim. Build 4 leantos around stake claim. Get 4 players to each put in 1 liftable item (wicker basket, log, etc.) in 1 leanto. 1 guy 1 leanto, so each a different one.

This claims the leantos, therefore people without vandal won't be able to come to your undried stake claim and let's be real, people with vandal won't bother to!

rip.

Surround the stake claim with 5-6 online characters so nobody can get to it without committing murder. this is slightly more difficult

1. Find a burrow, build a leanto, store your items inside.
2. Set up your claim, don't level any ground or pave anything until it sets so it isn't so obvious on the minimap.
3.If it gets destroyed, move somewhere else, the area is most likely overpopulated already. Claims are dirt cheap if you dont make multiple ones so you dont really lose anything if someone destroys it.
4. If it survives until it sets, build a palisade.

This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.”

Palisade has Always been essential.

Place a claim, wait 8 hours, expand it, build a fence, develop leather and collect nettles, make rope, build palisade.
Now you're secure.

To note, the claim in vulnerable until 8 hours up AND you interact with it for the first time. Be sure to fill presence up immediately that first time. A claim with no presence is still vulnerable.

Afterwards, you can fill it passively by keeping the Bond of Blood & Soil in the study. (You get 1 presence per LP earned passively, or can spend 1LP per presence when filling manually.)

TBH, if you have to deal with someone destroying your claim before it's dry, it's not a place you want to settle solo. I'll just quote:

and add that it doesn't even have to mean overpopulation, just a group there that is aggressively marking their territory.

If you are also looking for a village/friendly community we can help you set up a claim/palisade or just give you a section of palisade too OP. PM if interested.

That's an abuse. And was supposed to be fixed/not possible after the latest patch (have not tried if it really was fixed, but patch notes say it's 5 tiles minimum inbetween leantos).
