Rustroot prospecting

Quoting this awesome guide:

There is a place near my plot where prospecting result is "quartz", but also this is the only place i see a red cone marker. That marker points NE, but when i go 12-15 tiles NE marker shows the opposing direction, SW. Obviously, ore node is in the center of this 12-15 tiles range. But NO! Quartz!

I`m wondering if it is rustroot prospecting is broken or my own logical attempts are broken.
Sköldpaddan, gurbibal master, drunken hunter, the thief of Constantinopol, he who never died of man`s hand, son of Severin, grandson of Yozz, Yozzik, Wengdalf. Also an owl.

P.S. More nice hats please!

It'll register the nearest tile containing ore, so in case it isn't a big cluster you might walk over it.

In your situation use divide and conquer: you have points A and B with readings pointing toward each other, so place yourself between these two (half the distance) and prospect again - repeat with each new reading till you found the ore tile.

Seems like 1 tile or so, huh.
Thanks for your reply.

As funny as it is, but while I was mining recently, I have found 1 tile of feldspar surrounded by limestone.
