Tamed animals

So i recently been taming animals but theres not much info on the areas u can keep them in.

I built a pen about14x7 and the sheep keeps breaking a part and getting out. I'm thinking cause its too small maybe?

If i just keep my animals in another palisade section will they despawn?

Thinking about just using the pen for breeding and letting them just roam around the farm area.

In w9 I had animals in 6x6 fences with no problem at all. I don't suggest you to let your animals roam, because if they are outside of feeder range they will starve.

No, they'll die if they're not kept fed. That's all. Hitched animals don't despawn as normal, but they will eventually despawn if left unattended for too long.
