How to combat fight

I have hunted MM and PP up to now with a bow and a sling.
I tried a melee battle with an ant for the first time by raising UC to 30 by raising 40 and preparing skin protector and sword.
However, even to defeat the ants was very difficult.
Which cards do you mainly use for battle?
I do not know the order to use again.

Focus on offense when fighting animals and use defensive moves only when opening is ~40%. Negate damage before that with armor. Ants are bad example, cause almost every hit they make penetrate armor for 1 HHP damage. Try bats.

P.S. Punch is damn terrible for damage, at least use Left Hook.

The point isn't about doing damage. It's about making an opening for finishers. At first you really don't have any, but a player should get chop and some sort of IP move relatively quickly, and then that works great. Later, you have better weapons, ways to generate IP faster, and better actions.

Second point is you have to look at cooldowns and such, too. Damage per second matters.
