Ore smelting

Postby Divicid » Thu Feb 09, 2017 11:57 pm

So i was wondering something, is it decided if an ore is going to become stone or metal when it's mined, or during the time it is melted?
And if it does matter when it is melted, is there a ratio too how many ore i should melt at a time.

But then, if it is decided when it's mined, it allows me to mix all my ore together, because currently i just keep em seperated. Anyone know?

It's decided when it's mined. Any bonuses from mining skills apply at that time.

Metal working, Tunneling, metallurgy and deep artifice affects smelting ore chance.
When mining tunneling and metal working gives u better ore when mining.

If its going to be stone or metal is decided when you are smelting it, you should fill the whole furnace when smelting otherwise its a waste of charcoal.

So when smelting it does not matter that much if i mix and match the ore? Like putting Dark Ore and Malachite together?

Correct. Every piece of ore you have already has a value inside it that determines whether it will turn into gneiss or metal, which was set when it was mined. Mixing ore doesn't affect that.
