I almost died to a badger and then to a boar. my hard health is at like 10 and I'm huddled around a fire trying to recover. I'm completely lost in this game and have no clue where to go or what I should be doing at this early stage in the game, lol.

I'm guessing I should join a village or something? Everyone seems to think that being a hermit is a bad idea.

I was an hermit and it was fun, just you can not run for quality (but who cares? )

Up to you. Having a good village to teach you makes things easier. Being a hermit is hard mode.

But if you're the type who sees losing as fun or a challenge or both, hermitting hard mode can be fun as hell.
