How do i know when it is ready?

Hi, im trying to tame a horse and it has like 20 hours at the hitching post, idk how looks like when it is ready to be tamed by punches.

its legs are splayed out like it wants to charge you and smash your face into the ground

Im not going to tame that beast, it brokes my leather armor and my bronze helmet xD
