Hearth magic and Experience.

I'm looking at these "spells" and they all require a huge amount of experience. I'm not sure if I should use these spells, the one that is very enticing is contemplation and meditation. I'm new and am basically asking how easy is it to acquire EXP and could i cast a few of these spells without completely gimping myself. I have 4k xp right now.

I've been wondering about this. How much of a Q increase can be expected? I just crossed the 20K threshold and am wondering if it's worth casting.

This really depends on how hard to push to get XP, either by out wandering and doing a lot of various tasks, grinding quests, or conserving XP by not using high XP curios. Some of the magics are great for semi-frequent use, others you want to try to avoid unless you've stockpiled a large sum. Some can be life savers (Rawhide! or Quell the Beast), others are merely convenience (Kindle).

I'd avoid Contemplation & Meditation unless you have a high value, long study time curio. The XP cost is just too high for anything that completes in less than a few days and doesn't give at least 30k LP.

Thank you for the responses everyone, I feel like I'm grasping more and more about the game. I'll probably just save up my XP and only use curio magic when its something big.
