Noobie pwith some questions about the game

Postby Artaniss » Fri Mar 03, 2017 12:21 am

Hey all, I'm brand new and want to play the game and have a few questions.

1- does the game still get updated?

2- how is the population and are people friendly?

3- what mods should I get that are necessary to make the gaming experience better and or easier?

4- how is the learning curve?

5- and last but not least there are two of the games that I have played one being Salem and the other rogalia and just wanted to know what the similarities are between these games and is Haven and hearth deeper? Thank you.

OK so the people who play aren't nice and not willing to help noobies?

And where do I get above mentioned client? Thank you for your reply.

There's constant 400-500 people playing at a time, most players are nice and friendly

Salem is not nearly as satisfying to play IMO, from personal experience, on top of their uncanny character models that you just can't relate to at all and it's just not fun

Learning curve is not fucked at all if you make use of the wiki, the forum and your mind

1-Yep, devs try for weekly updates but they sometimes delay for a week.
2-Population is good, most people are fairly friendly though a small percentage do kill on sight.
3-Amber is the most popular custom client, other than that there's a world map and some other tools in the Wizards Tower forum. Some clients have bot APIs you can write scripts for if you're interested.
4-Some of the concepts are a bit tough to figure out, but the wiki (ringofbrodgar, not the other one) is fairly up to date and is incredibly useful. There's also Sevenless' guide, which is quite out of date but still very useful for new players. Just be aware there's been some fairly significant changes since then.
5-Never played the other one, but Salem is generally more casual and not as deep gameplay wise. It also has a shitty micro transaction system.
