Alts and you (or me in this case), some advice please

Postby uncleseano » Fri Mar 03, 2017 11:50 am

So my lil base is getting set up nicely and it's time to stop my only character from running around the world like a maniac and start using some Alts.
Would like a lil help on stats/skills are needed for the specific lil toons below that will leave me with the least headache

Main: Cooking, Farming, Crafting, Smelting all that jazz
Attributes: All Equally (as best as I can)
Abilities: Sewing, Smithing, Masonary, Lore, Survival, Carpentry. Cooking, Farming etc
Skills: All Minus Thieving/Murdering That kinda stuff

Alts:
1. Hunter/Forager
Attributes: Strenght, Constitution, Agility, Perception
Abilities: Unarmed, Melee, Exploration, Survival
Skills: Nothing Major

2. Miner
Attributes: Strenght
Abilities: Masonary
Skills: Tunnelling (Have Steel/Metal on Main)

I only really want the four characters, any use them as needed and get their bellies filled every few days for the FEP boosts as I'm not min/maxing here.
Any advice on how this looks would be great, thanks

Hunter would benefit from some survival for fighting bats/swans which are hardcapped by the survival of the fighter, probably around 50 tops, increase it or wear gilds only if you are capping nice nodes. For mining you need masonry as all ore/stone is hardcapped by it.

I personally would bundle fight/forager into one, as mining is risky due to trolls, and foraging is when you see animals. Foragers also barely require any skills anyway, so bundling with fighter is easy. This would:
- enable more productive/fun hunt + foraging sessions
- allow you to raise strength on your pure miner faster, and make fepping it easier
- minimise losses if a troll death happens

Thanks, a forager/hunter is a good shout. Good synergy and more fun than a miner/fighter. Plus the pure miner is a quick n' easy Alt to make.

The Miner needs Deep Artifice. Smelting doesn't really matter who puts the ore in and lights the fire. The chance is determined by the miner.

As far as crafting, it can be done with appropriate alts. No need to pile so many duplicate skills on one. Of course, you might need to pile up some FEPs on one of the alts that might not otherwise need it, but FEPs on an alt can be easier than LPs. YMMV. Also note that crafts are softcapped by the geometric mean of the skills/attrbutes listed (the nth root of the product of n numbers). To clarify the point: you might not need to get as high an attribute or skill depending on the quality of material you are working with.

You might as well drop the "slave alt" as feeding one of your others will be easier and more productive given the restrictions in the game from doing "hard labor" at under 5000 energy. Unless you're going to keep him working in the background on a second account, of course... then sure, that's quite useful to have.

Great thanks, started pumping a forager/fighter on a second accound (cheeky multibox) it was doubling as the labourer for now. I don't want to have more than two clients running so that's the way forward. Have already edited the first post.

So, I can have the main and the miner on my verfified account and the hunter/forager on my second.

Pity about needing deep artifice on the miner as its a good chunk of change. Well no worries, will start the toon in the background with the longer curio times and forget about him for now.

Thanks for the right of MagicMan appreciate it. Much less of a headache now
