Yet Again Another Milestone Question

Postby uncleseano » Mon Mar 06, 2017 10:36 am

Heya, I wanna have a few paths created so I'm gonna build a stone Milestone cause it has 4 roads.

So I'll try and explain this the best I can.

I want to bascially have a few roads but one road in particular will be very long with a few 'stops' on the way.

For clarity my Base [A], Mine [B], Swamp [C] and Grassland [D] are all in a line from my base so can I

Use the Milestone [M] so that its [A(M)] -> [B] -> [C] -> [D]

or is it [A] -> [B]
[A] -> [C]
[A] -> [D]

I'm only asking because I'm about to plop down a stone Milestone and I wont bother if I need to use most of the routes to go to B,C,D. It would be better to just slap down wooden road signs if that's the case.

In short I would love one long road to B,C,D and the other 3 roads elsewhere close by that arent in a line

Does that make sense? My coffee hasnt kicked in yet

I think I understand what your asking.

From my experience with milestones, they always transport you to last milestone created.

So to get to B, C, or D you will have to make separate roads. The only way around this is to place something in the way of your roads so that you stop at the place you want. I usually put a stockpile of something in the way. You will then have to walk to the next milestone to continue.

If there is a different way that I haven't figures out I hope someone will say how.

I've seen once a small milestone with "follow X north", "follow X south", "follow Y north", "follow Y south"... like if there were 2 different roads that were using the same sign

Yeah you have it in one. That's what I was asking so I guess I don't have to try and explain it again!

It looks like I'll have to do your stockpile method or at least have the Milestone from say A to B and then a wooden sign post from B to C etc. Kinda beefy on the resources when I just want to build one straight line with stops though.

Not sure really what to do :(

stone milestones can support up to 4 roads.. both the start object and the stone path markers..
you can create a road from A->D, then have separate roads to B and C but using the same path markers. the only difference would be the roads for B and C end earlier

after creating road from A->D, at A create another road (say to B), and when naming the road (and extending) you will just connect it to the existing markers.. when you have reached the endpoint for B, just stop extending that road.. make a new one for C, and repeat the same process
